When it comes to sunshine you don’t think of the UK as being the place to go.
But new research has revealed that the Isle of Wight has been crowned the sunniest place in the UK thanks to getting more sunlight than anywhere else.
This is according to new data from the Met Office. They collected research from over three decades to find that the island is the only place in the UK that has more than five hours of sunshine a day.
The island itself is known for its coastal beauty and let’s not forget a famous music festival.
What is there to do in the Isle of Wight?
The Isle of Wight is just located off the south coast of England. There are plenty of things to see and do on the island with beaches including Shanklin Beach and Ventnor Beach ready to explore.
When is the best time to go to the Isle of Wight?
Thankfully, being the sunniest spot in the UK you’d think all the time, right?
Well, the warmer months are from May-September where you can expect to see an average temperature of 17°C.
Meanwhile, as you can expect the hottest month will be August when you can see an average temperature of 19°C and a low of 14°C.

Surrey – 4 hours 29 minutes
