TV sports presenter arrested on suspicion of raping a child ‘has computer and documents seized’ during 4am raid on his home

Police have reportedly ‘seized computer devices and documents’ belonging to a television sports presenter who was arrested on suspicion of raping a child. 

According to The Sun, officers ‘raided’ the married presenter’s home at 4am earlier this week. 

The outlet claims the police force conducting the investigation searched the property before taking computer devices and documents away for inspection.  

The man was held in custody for approximately 18 hours, according to the newspaper, and had been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

The Sun states that the allegation is historical and claims that the child was younger than 10 years old when the incident took place. It is alleged that the child was raped on more than one occasion.

Police have ‘seized a computer and documents’ of a TV sports presenter who was reportedly arrested on suspicion of rape  

The outlet understands that the complainant had recently made the allegation and it was reported to the police. The complainant was interviewed by specialist child abuse investigation officers.

A neighbour of the man arrested told The Sun: ‘The police turned up very early.

‘They took him away and were there for a while ­carrying out a search.

‘Everyone is shocked at his arrest.’

According to The Sun, the suspect was working in the television industry at the time the alleged offence took place. 

The newspaper claims that the police force conducting the investigation have confirmed the arrest, while the presenter has denied any wrongdoing. 

The individual’s employers have reportedly been made aware of his arrest. It is thought that his colleagues were unaware of the incident.
