Liam Gallagher has hit out at Richard Keys after the former Sky Sports host insisted Manchester City have ‘won another asterisk’ by winning their fourth straight Premier League title.
Pep Guardiola‘s side lifted the trophy for the sixth time in seven seasons, following their 3-1 victory over West Ham.
Ahead of their title triumph, Keys warned City that winning the title ‘comes with an asterisk’ due to their 115 charges for alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play rules.
Following their title triumph, Keys congratulated the champions for winning ‘another asterisk’ to go with the title in his latest blog post.
Man City super-fan and former Oasis front-man Gallagher has since fired back at Keys on social media, replying to the current beIN Sports host with a one-word message.

Gallagher responded to Keys’ assessment of City’s triumph with a one-word response
Keys titled his blog post: ‘Well done City but I’m afraid you win another asterisk to go with the title.’
In his post he said: ”So let’s congratulate City on another title success. Four in a row really is an exceptional achievement.’
‘It wasn’t just the final day that felt flat – I thought City’s achievement did.
‘They know, they all know – fans, players and management alike, that none of us can take anything they do at face value – until they’ve answered the 115 outstanding breaches of PL regulations.’
After breaking down the charges, Keys added: ‘City strenuously deny any wrongdoing and they’re innocent until proven guilty.
‘The problem is that everything they win comes with an asterisk, until we know one way or the other.
‘And that’s not fair on the guys winning the trophies – or City’s fans. If the people that run the club are certain they’ve done nothing wrong – face the charges now. Stop running.’
In a post on social media, Gallagher appeared to suggest that Keys’ opinion was crazy, as he wrote: ‘Cuckoo.’
City are awaiting the outcome of the 115 charges for breaching Financial Fair Play rules
Man City are awaiting the outcome of the 115 charges brought against them by the Premier League at the start of 2023.
They include a failure to provide accurate financial information between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons, a failure to provide accurate details of player and manager payments during the same period, and alleged breaches of Premier League and UEFA financial rules.
35 relate to a failure to co-operate with Premier League investigations into the matter between December 2018 and February 2023.
Manchester City deny any wrongdoing and Premier League CEO Richard Masters said a trial date had been set, though wouldn’t reveal when it would take place.
A date for City’s hearing has yet to be confirmed and with legal challenges and appeals, is likely to drag on for some time.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright also said on his final Match of the Day that it’s ‘unfair’ for the players due to the ‘uncertainty around it’.
He said: ‘It’s unfair on the legacy that these players are building. You watch them that [Netflix] Treble documentary; the drive and determination to try and do what they’ve done is unbelievable.
‘It’s unfair that they’ve got all of this around them. The sooner they get this resolved, the better.’
