Cage Warriors 172: Kennedy Freeman Looking to Stay Undefeated

Must read

Kennedy Freeman will be looking to improve her record to 5-0. This is when she takes on Gisele Libânio at Cage Warriors 172 on May 25th.

Kennedy Freeman Journey to Cage Warriors 172

Kennedy Freeman currently fights in the bantamweight division and is looking to keep her impressive start going this weekend. Freeman was able to start her career off to the right start when she was able to go 6-1 as an amateur. Of those 6 victories, 2 were due to knockout/ TKO and the other 4 were due to decision.

Kennedy then decided to turn pro and got her first professional fight against Silvia Leonora Nascimento. Kennedy was able to get off to the best possible start as she was able to finish the fight in the first round due to punches.

This victory was then followed up by back-to-back decision victories against Flore Hani and Kelig Pinson which allowed Kennedy to secure a Cage Warriors Contract. Her debut came last time when Cage Warriors came to Newcastle on November 25th 2023 against Annabruna Rados. She was able to reward Cage Warriors for the opportunity by finishing Rados in the first round due to punches.

Kennedy will be looking to make another eventual night this Saturday when she faces Gisele Libânio who holds a record of 2-1. She will be hoping to give the fans something to cheer and hopefully grab another stoppage victory. If Kennedy can keep the victories together there is no doubt the sky is the limit and she will eventually be in the UFC.

Kennedy Freeman Title’s Won

While Kennedy may have only had 11 fights including her amateur fights throughout her whole career she has still held 3 belts. The first belt she was able to achieve was the MMMA Bantamweight title under the Machine MMA banner. Kennedy was able to achieve this after getting a first-round head kick knockout over Chrissy Audin. This belt came in her first ever amateur MMA fight.

Kennedy Freeman would then have to wait just under 2 years before she was able to clinch the MMMA Flyweight title. Kennedy Freeman was able to defeat Koana Filipa by unanimous decision to become a title holder under Machine MMA once again.

Her last title came just 2 fights ago under Made4TheCage. This was due to her being able to get a unanimous decision victory against Kelig Pinson. This allowed her to clinch the Made4TheCage Flyweight title. Kennedy has been able to achieve 3 titles in just the 11 fights and with another victory this Saturday this will only increase her stock to give her more opportunities.

Cage Warriors 172 Card

Cage Warriors will be heading back to Newcastle this weekend (May 25th 2024). Harry Hardwick will feature in the main event against Orlando Wilson Prins for the vacant featherweight title. Harry Hardwick will look to extend his unbeaten streak to 7 fights and become the vacant champion. Unlike Kennedy Harry prefers to keep the fight on the mat and be able to submit his opponent. This is due to 4 of his 10 victories coming due to a submission with another 5 coming due to decision.

Also featuring on the card is James Power who is looking to make a quick turnaround. This was after his decision victory against Gianluca Rocca back at Cage Warriors 168 on March 16th. Power prefers to keep the fight standing and trade with his opponent. Powers has the perfect dance partner in Daniel Kolasiński this weekend. This fight is sure to be an exciting fight with both fighters looking to be able to get the knockout. This will improve their stock within the division and push them for a title push in the future.

Chasen Blair is also making the trip across the Atlantic and will face off against Artūrs Leisāns. All of Chasen’s 4 victories have come due to knockout. Chasen able to get back to winning ways last time out against Orlando Saunders. This was because Chasen was able to get the victory in the first round. Chasen is a training partner of UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett and will be looking to secure another highlight reel finish.
