BBC apologises to Farage after accusing him of ‘inflammatory language’

Must read

A BBC News presenter has apologised after she accused Nigel Farage of using “customary inflammatory language”.

Geeta Guru-Murthy said her comments “didn’t meet the BBC’s editorial standards on impartiality”.

Mr Farage said he was quoting the Polish prime minister Donald Tusk when he said “aggressive young males” were coming into Poland, at a Reform UK event in Dover.

It comes as Rachel Reeves has said Labour won’t match the Conservatives’ pledge to raise personal tax allowances for pensioners – calling the policy a “another desperate gimmick”.

The shadow chancellor told business leaders in Derby that Labour will be both pro-business and pro-worker and that the party can “bring growth back to Britain”.
