Plans to demolish a former shopping centre in Lincoln have been given approval.
Lincolnshire Co-op had applied for permission to bulldoze its former City Square shopping centre as part of a wider regeneration plan for the city centre site.
The plans were approved by City of Lincoln Council at a meeting last week.
Proposals for a six-storey hotel on the site are currently pending full approval.
Concerns were previously raised about anti-social behaviour at the vacant site, which closed in 2019.
Refurbishment work at the market included a new mezzanine floor overlooking the market floor and new loos.
The market is now home to more than 20 traders, including a family-run coffee company and a plant sales firm.
