And fans are expecting big things after watching England suffer a dismal 1-0 defeat to Iceland at Wembley on Friday.

However, boss Southgate could be without five important members of his squad.

Reports claim Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka and John Stones will all be assessed ahead of the Serbia game.

While Luke Shaw will definitely miss out as he continues to recover from injury.

It means Southgate could be set for a major shake-up to his preferred starting XI, with five new faces coming in.

Jordan Pickford will begin in goal as usual, with Kyle Walker lining up at right-back.

At left-back, Kieran Tripper will play out of position until Shaw is fit again.

While Marc Guehi will start in place of Harry Maguire, who was left out entirely.

And if Stones also fails to be ready, Ezri Konsa could pip Joe Gomez and Lewis Dunk to the post.

In midfield, Southgate is likely to opt for a partnership of Declan Rice and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Conor Gallagher, Kobbie Mainoo and Adam Wharton are options if the Liverpool right-back is not rated.

But Southgate showed his support for Alexander-Arnold by handing him the No8 shirt for the tournament.

Up front, Harry Kane will start bar any late issues with his back.

Yet it’s the three behind him which are all set for change.

Cole Palmer is likely to be the first thrust into the spotlight, with the Chelsea man an ideal replacement for Bellingham as England’s No10.

On the right, Jarrod Bowen is a like-for-like for left-footer Saka.

While Eberechi Eze could get the nod over Anthony Gordon to replace Foden on the opposite flank.

But with five days to prove their fitness, the stars in doubt still have time to prove their fitness and start against Serbia on Sunday.
