10 sunny holiday spots you can fly to tomorrow to avoid the UK’s wet weather

With the UK’s weather forecast looking particularly bleak over the next few days, many Britons are looking to jet off to a sunny destination to avoid the downpours.

But where can you jet off to right now that’s guaranteed to be hot in June?

While Spanish destinations tend to be the most popular, there are some sunny spots in other parts of Europe including Croatia, Malta and Greece.

Budget airline Ryanair has shared 10 destinations that are guaranteed to be hot this month.

Even better, these destinations are just a few hours from the UK and won’t cost you a fortune to fly there.

10. Malta

If you’re looking for an unforgettable trip to a pretty island then there’s nowhere better than Malta. Not only is it three and a half hours from the UK but it was voted the best diving destination in Europe thanks to its clear azure waters and white sandy beaches.

In June, temperatures average a balmy 25C with 13 hours of sunshine each day. Some highlights to visit in Malta include Mellieha Bay, Comino’s Blue Lagoon and the Megalithic Temples which date back to between 3600 BC and 700 BC.

Travellers can bag a one-way flight for around £20 with Ryanair this month from Liverpool, London Luton and London Stansted.

9. Pula, Croatia

Located on the southern tip of Croatia, Pula is the perfect destination for a lazy beach holiday in June.

The city is known for its unspoiled natural surroundings, stunning beaches, bright blue waters and Roman buildings.

Average June temperatures are around 24C which is perfect for lazing in on the beach or enjoying an alfresco supper.

7. The Algarve, Portugal

If you fancy trying somewhere a bit different, the Algarve, Portugal’s southernmost region, is the perfect spot.

The region is filled with idyllic sandy coves, fishing villages and a stunning coastline between Lagos and Faro that’s lined with villas, hotels, bars and restaurants.

Temperatures average 24C and Britons can expect 12 hours of sun each day. And with the school holidays still weeks away, travellers will have the golden beaches all to themselves.

6. Nice, France

Just two hours from the UK, Nice is a short flight from the UK and offers everything Britons want this summer – 14 hours of sunshine, palm-lined beaches and a plethora of restaurants.

The city is known for its art and was once home to famous artist Henri Matisse whose paintings are featured at Musée Matisse.

Return flights to Nice are around £250 on Skyscanner from various parts of the UK.
