A man in his 40s has died from his injuries after a “serious incident” at a sports club in Hertfordshire on Sunday.
Police were called to the car park of Ickleford Sports and Recreation Club on Chambers Lane in Hitchin at about 22:30 BST.
The nature of the incident has not been disclosed but a police investigation is underway.
Hertfordshire Police said a 21-year old-man from Hitchin had been arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in police custody.
Ickleford Sports and Recreation Club closed following the incident.
On Facebook the club posted: “Due to unforeseen circumstances we will be shut until further notice, please bear with us when we reopen we will post on page date unknown”.
