What is the UK’s most-searched cocktail? – The Spirits Business
According t0 The Whisky Masters’ findings, the Aperol Spritz is the most-searched cocktail in the UK

The statistics were compiled by whisky retailer The Whisky Masters from data from Google Ads, selected from the 20 highest-populated cities in the UK and 20 well-known cocktails.

The cocktails included the Aperol Spritz, Bellini, Bloody Mary, Cosmopolitan, Daiquiri, Dark ‘n’ Stormy, Espresso Martini, Gin and Tonic, Mai Tai, Manhattan, Margarita, Martini, Mojito, Negroni, Old Fashioned, Pimm’s Cup, Piña Colada, Pornstar Martini, Tom Collins and Whiskey Sour.

The Whisky Masters used keywords such as recipe, cocktails, ingredients, and phrases such as ‘how to make’ to find the search volume for each cocktail in each city.

Overall in the UK, the statistics showed the Aperol Spritz as the most-searched cocktail with 183,170 Google searches on average per month. The Pornstar Martini came in second with 109,390 searches and the Negroni third with 103,140.

Meanwhile in London, Aperol Spritz came on top with 45,620, the Negroni ranked second again with 25,800 and the Pornstar Martini in third with 19,970.

While these three dominated the charts in most cities, in Leeds the Manhattan and the Cosmopolitan were the second and third-place cocktails behind the Pornstar Martini. Then in Brighton, the Espresso Martini made an appearance in third place.

On the findings, The Whisky Masters co-founder Daniel Ufland said: “The Aperol Spritz’s rise to the top spot is no surprise. Its light and refreshing taste profile, coupled with its vibrant orange hue, makes it the perfect companion on a patio, in a beer garden or at a barbecue.

“It seems the Aperol Spritz’s versatility is another factor in its popularity. It’s a crowd-pleaser that’s easy to make at home or order at a bar.”

The Aperol Spritz’s appeal extends beyond the UK and Europe too. In the US, statistics also revealed that the cocktail is resonating strongest with consumers, and according to Google Search results, was the favourite tipple in 22 states.
