- Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys recently had hair transplant surgery
- A video of his treatment journey was uploaded to TikTok by the British Hair Clinic
- Keys says the surgery was recommended to him by ex-footballer Jason McAteer
Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys recently underwent a procedure to have his hairline restored.
The 67-year-old – who left Sky alongside long-time co-host Andy Gray in 2011 following allegations of sexism – documented his treatment journey by starring in a video for the British Hair Clinic.
In the video, Keys recognises that him actively seeking to get hairier is somewhat ironic – after he was mocked by trolls for years for apparently having hairy hands.
It was widely claimed over a decade ago – when Keys was still working for Sky – that he had undergone laser surgery to remove hair from his hands and arms.
Keys also reveals during the video that the British Hair Clinic was recommended to him by both ex-Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer and talkSPORT commentator Sam Matterface.

The video begins with Keys – sporting a dressing covering the back of his head – saying: ‘The once hairiest man on TV has done a little bit today to restore his reputation.’
Later on he adds: ‘I’m laughing because I’ve heard the joke.
‘What an irony that someone who spent his lifetime trying to remove hair finds himself in the British Hair Clinic looking for them to add hair. I mean, you couldn’t make it up really.
‘But here we are, at the direction of Jason McAteer, who’s been through this process and looks well for it – at least that’s what he told me – and Sam Matterface, a very good friend of mine who I worked with at talkSPORT for a while.
‘Sam, I spoke to this morning, and he said: “Brilliant, easy, you’ll love it.”‘

Keys has worked as a television anchor for beIN SPORTS – based in Doha, Qatar – since 2013

Towards the end of the video, Keys is shown looking in the mirror after having ink drawn on his scalp. ‘So that’s the new hairline,’ he says. ‘That’s where the new hairline will be.’
Keys is currently working for beIN SPORTS as the Qatari broadcaster’s senior football anchor.
