Chaos on major UK motoroway as horror crash sparks delays and 13-mile queues

The M6 northbound was brought to a standstill after a collision near Stoke-on-Trent on Friday.

National Highways reported that there were delays of up to 90 minutes and a 13-mile queue after a crash between J15 Hanchurch Interchange (Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme A500) and J16 Barthomley Interchange (Stoke-on-Trent, Crewe, Nantwich, Chester A500).

Recovery vehicles were sent to the scene to remove the vehicles involved.

National Highways told drivers at the time: “If this impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.
