Heartless vandals forced a charity shop in Bishop’s Stortford to remain closed on Thursday morning after damaging its shopfront.
Staff at the British Heart Foundation outlet and neighbouring Phoenix Vapers in Potter Street arrived for work to find all their windows and doors had been damaged.
Police were called at about 8.45am. Both shops were able to open for business later in the day, with their windows either boarded or taped up.
A spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “The British Heart Foundation store had three panes of glass on the shop front smashed as well as the glass door.
“Phoenix Vapers had all four of its front shop windows smashed, as well as glass in the front door.”

On Sunday night (August 18-19), Pepe’s Piri Piri grilled chicken takeaway a few doors along in South Street was targeted after 11.30pm. Police are reviewing CCTV footage.
