If you were planning a shopping spree on the August bank holiday you’ll be glad to know lots of high street stores are remaining open.
High Street favourites like Next, M&S and Primark will still be opening over the bank holiday weekend and on bank holiday Monday.
Their opening and closing hours may of course vary from what they would usually be on a Monday so it’s best to double check before you head out shopping.
But whether you just need to pop to the shops for a few bits, or your planning a whole-day spree, it’s good to know when your local stores will open and close over the long weekend.
This year August bank holiday Monday falls on 26 August.

When is Primark open on bank holiday Monday?
Primark has more than 190 branches around the UK and all of them will be open on bank holiday Monday.
Some shops will be open until 7pm, 8pm, or even 9pm, so it is not a case of them drastically cutting hours of operation.
But opening hours for the popular clothes store can vary on a normal day let alone a bank holiday, so check the store locator section of the website for exact details of your local branch.
When is Marks and Spencer open?
Marks and Spencer stores will also be open on bank holiday Monday, although some will open a little later and/or close a little earlier.
Most stores will open at 8am on Monday and close at 8pm.
This means some stores differ from their usual Monday hours, for example, the M&S in Marble Arch, London, will close at 8pm instead of 9pm.

When is Next open over the bank holiday?
If you fancy a spot of clothes and accessories browsing over the bank holiday, Next stores are open as normal, though some will have different hours depending on the branch.
To be sure, the best way to check is by using the online store locator.
Next shops across the country will be open as normal on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 before bank holiday Monday.
