Next 2 countries on Harry and Meghan’s ‘world tour’ make complete sense

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are set to visit two more countries before the end of the year, an insider has told Hello!.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly set to visit Lesotho and Botswana on another “ ‘faux royal” tour within the next few months.

While these may seem like random locations to some, fans of Prince Harry will know that both these countries make sense for the prince to visit as they are where his charity Sentebale operates.

The charity focuses on supporting young children in South Africa, which is something Harry’s mother Princess Diana was passionate about.

The countries have also been visited by Prince Harry before, which offers some reassurance to the controversial couple as the duke was well-received by members of the public there during his last visit in 2019 when the couple were still working members of the Royal Family.

On this 2019 visit, Harry and Meghan did a 10-day tour of southern Africa.

The Duke of Sussex spent one of these ten days in Botswana to carry out a number of engagements alone as Meghan Markle stayed back to look after their son Archie.

At the time, the Royal Family issued updates on their website where they confirmed that Harry visited the Chobe Tree Reserve to join schoolchildren from the local community in planting trees as part of his conservation work.

The prince then met children and teachers from across the district as part of an education programme where they learn about tree-plating and ecosystems.

Later that day, the duke visited a Sentebale project which supports young people affected by HIV in Botswana.

HRH and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho founded the charity in 2006 to provide support and education to children and young people whose lives have been affected by HIV.

In the afternoon, The Duke of Sussex accompanied the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) on a routine river patrol on the Chobe River, to learn about the successes and challenges experienced by the BDF.

The royal visit was the last time Harry visited the country.

The trip is expected to take place sometime after Harry’s upcoming solo visit to New York City, which will take place in mid-September after the prince’s 40th birthday.

During his time in the city, Harry will take on a number of engagements related to charities and projects he is working on.

Meghan Markle is expected to stay at home in California with the couple’s children Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.
