The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards took place at at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday evening.
Hosted by Schitt’s Creek father and son duo Dan Levy and Eugene Levy, the ceremony celebrated some of the biggest and brightest actors, producers and TV shows in the industry including landslide winners The Bear, ShÅgun and Baby Reindeer.
While the Emmy trophies dazzled under the spotlights, a shining appearance was also made by sequins, which lead the fashion on the red carpets with several actors opting to intensify the glitz in embellished gowns.
Leading the way were Ayo Edebiri, who stars in FX’s The Bear and wore an eye-catching red, black, white and yellow sequinned dress. The custom-made Bottega Veneta gown featured a strapless neckline and a thigh-split. During an interview with Emmys red carpet host Laverne Cox, the actor jokingly stated that the dress gave ‘Nollywood vibes’.
Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan, meanwhile, chose all-silver for the evening in an elegantly structured Prabal Gurung gown. The sequinned dress featured a sweetheart neckline, which flowed out into oversized off-the shoulders, as well a dramatic hourglass silhouette. To accessorise, she wore white and yellow diamond earrings and a sleek half up do’.
Also appearing in all-silver was Jennifer Aniston, who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for The Morning Show. The actor’s Oscar de la Renta gown was adorned with pearls.
The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas also made a dramatic entrance in an all-sequinned gown. Colón-Zayas took home the gold for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in a beautufil emerald floor-length emerald dress.
Selena Gomez also joined the embellished pack, with a refined take on the trend. The Only Murders In The Building actor wore a black Ralph Lauren gown, which turned heads due to its silver embellished cross-over halter neck detailing.
