The beautiful Italian island with ‘beaches just like the Caribbean’

Must read

Tucked off the west coast of mainland Italy, the island of Sardinia is an underrated gem boasting some of the most breathtaking beaches in Europe.

It is often compared to the Caribbean for its dazzling white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters.

This Mediterranean paradise is just a short flight away, offering visitors a dream destination without long-haul travel.

Sardinia’s coastlines are famed for their untouched beauty, from hidden coves to sprawling sandy shores.

The island also features mountains, lagoons, and dramatic cliffs, making it a perfect escape for nature lovers and adventurers alike.

Travellers have been quick to praise Sardinia’s incredible beaches.

One reviewer on Tripadvisor raved: “Beautiful beach, long white sand and crystal clear waters. Lots of sunbeds to rent.

“Shallow for a long distance, so great for young children. Showers on-site and café on the beach. Lots of parking available.”

Another traveller shared a secret to finding a peaceful spot on the normally crowded beach.

They said: “We walked from our hotel here in the late afternoon, without all the beach gear, we made it all the way to the end, approx. 4 km – magical.

“It reminded us of Pampelonne beach in St Tropez.

“Please don’t let the hordes of people at the entrance of the beach put you off, the other end is empty!”

Beyond its beaches, Sardinia is also a haven for food lovers. Visitors can indulge in fresh, local cuisine, including world-renowned Italian dishes with a Sardinian twist.

From seafood straight from the Mediterranean to the island’s famous pecorino cheese, Sardinia offers a culinary experience as rich as its landscapes.

With its blend of Caribbean-like beaches, authentic Italian culture, and top-notch hospitality, Sardinia remains a hidden treasure just waiting to be discovered.
