Joe Locke loves cardigans! And jumpers. And overshirts. As we learn in the latest episode of Esquire’s Lookbook video series, the 21-year-old Heartstopper co-lead likes to experiment with fashion, whether he is trying out new trends or digging for vintage looks.
The rising star talks us through some of his most memorable moments, from early Heartstopper parties to fashion week shows. Good news: he will have plenty more opportunities to deploy more red carpet looks now that he’s a main player in one of autumn’s buzziest shows, Agatha All Along, the sequel series to 2021’s runaway hit WandaVision.
Locke plays Teen, who is part of a coven, which includes powerful and viral – you saw those memes – witch Agatha Harkness (played with a delicious wink by Kathryn Hahn). He goes deep on that character’s costume, which may contain traces of Easter eggs (though, no fear, this is a spoiler-free environment). Locke clearly dug the costume, so much so that a piece of jewellery has made it way into his own wardrobe. We guess, for him, it was the accessories all along. Safe to say this guy has Vision.
