Opening date for new discount retail store in shopping centre revealed

Wilko closed its doors in the Market Gates Shopping Centre last September when the firm fell into administration and last week B&M lodged a licence application to operate in their old space.

B&M have now confirmed to this newspaper they aim to open their doors in the old Wilko, which first opened in 1994, on Saturday, November 30.

A licence application, which is on display in the window of the shop unit, has been lodged to Great Yarmouth Borough Council to serve alcohol between 7am and 11pm seven days a week.

Representations for or against the application can be lodged with the Borough Council in writing or by emailing, licensing@great-yarmouth.gov.uk before October 18.
