There are severe traffic delays on the A1M due to an electrical issue affecting Hatfield Tunnel.
The A1M is closed northbound between junction 3 and 4 and southbound between junction 4 and 2 due to an electrical issue affecting Hatfield Tunnel.
In London, there are more travel disruptions today as the Underground will be hit by planned closures this weekend as engineering work is carried out.
The District line will be partly closed between Turnham Green to Richmond, while the Metropolitan Line will be close completely.
The Piccadilly line will also see closures from South Harrow to Uxbridge, and the DLR will be partly shut at Bank and Tower Gateway to Poplar and West India Quay.
It follows a crash on the M25 near junction 6 for Clacket Lane services yesterday, where a motorcyclist died. A lorry thought to have been involved drove away from the scene, and police want to speak to the driver.
A5 MOTORCYCLE COLLISION
The A5 is Buckinghamshire is closed in both directions between the A421 Redmoor Roundabout and the A509 Portway Roundabout in Milton Keynes due to a serious collision involving a motorcycle.
Thames Valley Police are on scene, and the road is expected to be closed through the morning for collision investigation works.
A1M DELAYS
The A1M is closed northbound between J3 & J4 and southbound between J4 & J2 this morning.
Traffic is being diverted, and engineers are currently on the scene.
For Southbound diversions:
- Exit the A1M J4 and at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit towards Hatfield A1001.
- At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit towards St Albans A1001.
- At the ‘Galleria’ roundabout take the 2nd exit towards Conley Heath A1001.
- At the ‘Roehyde’ roundabout take the 2nd exit heading towards London A1M
- At the next roundabout take the second exit to join the A1M J2.Â
For Northbound diversions:
- Exit the A1M junction 3 and at roundabout, take the 2nd exit on the ‘Roehyde’ roundabout towards Hatfield.
- At the ‘Galleria’ roundabout take the 2nd exit.
- At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit following directions for ‘Hartford A1001 (A414)’.
- At the next ‘Clock’ roundabout take the 2nd exit to join the A1M J4.Â
UNDERGROUND LINE CLOSURES
There are planned closures across the board this weekend, with thousands of journeys expected to be affected.
The District, DLR, Overground, Metropolitan, Piccadilly and Waterloo and City lines are all facing planned or part closures.
The rest of the line – and the rest of the Tube network – currently has good service.
