Greece warning as new delays cause chaos for holidaymakers

Holidaymakers in Greece have been hit with warnings as ongoing air traffic control delays cause widespread disruption at Athens International Airport.

For the second consecutive day, air traffic controllers are engaging in a go-slow action, leading to flight delays of up to two hours, with no end in sight.

According to Kathimerini News, most flights at the airport are facing delays ranging from 15 minutes to two hours, leaving thousands of travellers stranded and frustrated.

Passengers arriving at the airport via the metro were met with confusion, as many had not been informed of delays, while others received notifications just before arriving.

“My flight is 25 minutes late. I hope it won’t be any longer,” said Jose, a tourist from Barcelona, who was hoping to return home after a week-long vacation in Greece.

Other passengers expressed growing frustration with the lack of clear communication from airport authorities.

“I’ve been here for an hour. The flight was supposed to leave in about half an hour, and no one has yet informed us of when boarding will begin. This is unacceptable,” said Eva, who was travelling to Prague with her daughter.
