About The Access Group
The Access Group, founded in 1991, is one of the largest UK headquartered business management software providers. It offers solutions that empower small and mid-sized organisations in commercial and non-profit sectors across Europe, USA and APAC. Its innovative cloud-based solutions and integrated AI software experience across multiple Access Group products transform how business technology is used.
The Access Group’s mission is simple: to offer “innovative cloud solutions to transform how business software is used, giving every employee the freedom to work from anywhere, work smarter and have a greater impact on their business”. Otherwise known as The Access Way, this approach makes it a key player in the SaaS industry.
Over the past two years, The Access Group has expanded its global presence by opening new Global Operations (GO) Centres in Timişoara and Kuala Lumpur, creating hundreds of new jobs and highlighting the skills and potential of local talent pools. These GO Centres also support The Access Group’s growth through successful mergers and acquisitions.
The Access Group’s success hasn’t come without its challenges. Although one of the UK’s largest tech and SaaS companies, it’s still relatively unknown compared to market competition. However, teams across the business have found innovative ways to tackle this including using unique campaigns and data-led reports. Recently, it launched “Access Who?” – a tongue-in-cheek campaign addressing the challenge head-on. Through this, The Access Group saw an increase in organic searches by 21% and generated almost 57,000 engagements, highlighting the impression it has on the industry, its existing customers and prospective customers.
In the 2024 financial year, The Access Group made ten acquisitions across six of its divisions – businesses acquired include COINS, Lightyear, Elay and most recently Onboarded. Through these acquisitions, The Access Group has entered new market segments and expanded geographically.
Since it was founded, The Access Group has raised funds and supported over 100,000 organisations and charities. In 2021, The Access Group set up its own charitable organisation, The Access Foundation, after noticing a divide during the Covid-19 pandemic between those who had access to technology, internet and digital skills, and those who didn’t. The Foundation aims to foster inclusive communities, support digital literacy and support equal opportunities in the digital world, with its grants going towards disadvantaged groups for IT workshops, training on devices and donating IT equipment. In its inaugural year, The Access Foundation awarded £1.36m in grant funding and in 2023, this increased to £1.41m. At the end of its fiscal year to 30 June 2024, The Access Group had raised around £1.3m for 10 charities across the world including Magic Breakfast which was its chosen charity of the year.
