Former NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew is a regular at the London games, offering analysis and colour from the sidelines, and he’s relishing the first game of this year’s series.
He told BBC Sport: “I said to Henry [Hodgson, NFL UK’s general manager], ‘dude, who have you been emailing and talking to, to get the Vikings, undefeated, with Justin Jefferson and Sam Darnold and Aaron Jones, and this crazy defence of Brian Flores, going against Aaron Rodgers? Are you kidding me?!’
“It’s a great match-up. I think both these teams can make the Super Bowl. At the moment, the Vikings are playing at a different level to the Jets but I think the Jets are creeping to that level. They’re going to have some mysteries as they go, just because Aaron Rodgers hasn’t been able to play a lot. But this could be the week when we see them take that big jump offensively.
“This is a star-studded game and I think the fans of the UK, all over Europe, all over the world, are going to be in for a treat.”
