Amazon has confirmed the Prime Big Deal Days sale is back again this year, and it’s nearly time for the deals to drop.
The Prime Big Deal Days event runs from 8-9 October and is ideal if you missed out on scoring a bargain in the Prime Day summer sale this year.
Prime Day deals
Shoppers will be happy to hear that Amazon Prime Big Deal Days typically brings seriously good price reductions on everything from tech to trainers.
While the name Prime Big Deal Days is somewhat of a tongue twister, the event itself is straightforward.
You have 48 hours to shop exclusive savings, but you need to be an Amazon Prime member to access the deals and you can sign up for free with a 30-day trial.
Prices are slashed on hundreds of thousands of items, including some of our Talksport writers’ favourite football and fitness products.
Amazon’s own-brand devices feature heavily in the discounting, making it a great time to add to your smart home set-up for a fraction of the normal price.
Apple products also usually feature in the sale, so you can expect to see low prices on popular devices like iPads, MacBooks and AirPods.
If you’re wondering how prices compare to other Amazon sales events, the good news is that the online retailer has promised to price match the deals we saw in July and in some cases beat them.
How to take part in Amazon Prime Day?
You will need to be an Amazon Prime member to access the deals during the Prime Big Deal Days.
If you’re not already an Amazon Prime member, you can sign up for a free 30-day Amazon Prime trial.
The trial will also get you free fast delivery, access to Prime Video and grocery deals on Amazon Fresh.
Once you have an active Prime membership, visit the Amazon website between midnight on 8 October and 23:59 on 9 October to shop the Amazon Prime Big Deal Day bargains.
We expect that there will be several deals on the retailer’s homepage, but it’s also worth looking at the main Prime Big Deal Days deals hub.
When is Prime Big Deal Days?
The Prime Big Deal Days event will kick off at midnight on 8 October and run until 23:59 on 9 October.
That means Amazon Prime members have a full 48 hours to hunt for bargains in the sale.
Whether there’s a gap in your life for a new gadget or you’re one of those organised shoppers planning ahead for Christmas, it pays to know about the Prime Big Deal Days if you want to make your money go further.
How long does the Prime Big Deal Days event last?
Just like the Amazon Prime Day sale in July, the Prime Big Deal Days will run across two days.
Deals will drop the minute the clock strikes midnight on 8 October, so if you stay up past midnight you could be one of the first to shop all the offers.
However, you need to stay alert throughout the sale because Amazon keeps us on our toes with lightning deals, which typically appear for just a few hours, or until a limited amount of products have been sold.
We recommend keeping a close eye on the Prime Day deals hub on the Amazon website to see the best bargains at a glance.
Refresh it several times a day to ensure that you catch all the lightning offers or monitor deal drops using the Amazon mobile app.
We’ll be watching the prices of our writers’ favourite sports tech and publishing articles on TalkSPORT when we notice a great price on a really useful piece of kit.
What Prime Big Deal Days offers to expect?
While we can’t tell you exactly what the bargains will be, Amazon has already teased some early deals on devices.
Amazon slashed the prices of its devices by more than half price in the July sales event, with discounts on items like the Echo Pop reduced from £39.99 to £19.99, and the Ring video doorbell reduced by 50% to £49.99.
This year we expect to see lots of health and fitness deals feature in the price cuts, with popular protein powders and fitness equipment tipped to be included in the offers.

What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is a two-day deal event for Prime members.
Amazon has confirmed that the next Prime Day sale will take place on 8 and 9 October, with the retailer promising access to hundreds of thousands of deals for Prime members.
Previously, the Prime Day sale happened once a year, but since 2022, there are now two sales in the calendar — one in July and another in October.
The October event is called Prime Big Deal Days to distinguish it from the original summer event and it’s a great time to start saving on the Christmas shopping wishlists.
When is the next Amazon Prime event?
Once the Amazon Prime Big Deals event is over, there’s a strong chance that the next Prime event will be in July 2025.
Officially, Prime Day marks the anniversary of Amazon’s inception. The company launched its US site in July 1995, and the first event with Prime Day branding took place on July 15, 2015, in nine countries.
Since 1995 there have only been two times that the Amazon Prime Day sale was not in July, the first was in 2020 when the event moved to October and the second was in 2021 when it took place a few weeks early in June.
As most years have seen it keep its mid-July window, it’s most likely that there will be an Amazon Prime event a few days either side of 15 July 2025.
That’s more than nine months after the Prime Big Deal days, which makes it more important than ever if you are a savvy shopper who wants to save money.
