Bulk Infrastructure has appointed Richard Brandon as its Chief Development Officer, a move aimed at bolstering its capabilities in large-scale data centre development.

Brandon brings over 24 years of experience in the data centre industry, having held senior roles with several high-profile companies. His previous positions include leading major data centre development programmes across the UK and Europe for CBRE, Digital Realty, and Structure Tone. Most recently, he served as the head of development for CyrusOne Europe, where he expanded and led a multi-billion Euro data centre development initiative across seven key European markets.

Jon Gravråk, CEO of Bulk Infrastructure, expressed enthusiasm over Brandon’s appointment, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Richard to the Bulk team. As a data centre development veteran, his extensive experience of large size hyperscale construction is spot on. With more than 300 MW of new power coming live at our core sites in 2027 and more large scale-locations being developed elsewhere in the Nordics, Richard will lead our build projects to support customers with 100 MW size type of developments.”

The strategic hire aligns with Bulk’s strategy to address the increasing demand from hyperscalers and other large-scale customers. Brandon’s experience is expected to enhance Bulk’s ability to provide scalable, sustainable, and secure infrastructure solutions in the Nordic regions.

Richard Brandon commented on his new role, saying, “Bulk offers a unique combination of a scalable platform, strategic pan-Nordic position, solid infrastructure portfolio and industrial competence ready to further cater for the large-scale global demand. Being part of Bulk’s growth journey and contributing to their future success was a key motivation factor.”

In addition to the new appointment, Jan Arve Haugan will continue to lend his expertise to Bulk, offering advisory services that draw on his deep understanding of industrial projects both in Norway and internationally. Haugan has a track record of successfully delivering and managing major infrastructure assets for significant industrial companies such as Aker and Norsk Hydro.

Based in Oslo, Norway, Bulk Infrastructure operates with branches in Norway and Denmark. The company provides adaptable, interconnected, and scalable data centres supporting applications such as AI, HPC, and Hyperscale IT workloads. These are supported by their essential fibre networking capabilities.

Bulk’s operational data centre campuses include the N01 Data Centre Campus, a substantial 300-hectare site located in Kristiansand in southern Norway. The company has secured 400 MW at this site, with potential growth up to 1GW, illustrating its commitment to expanding its data centre infrastructure in response to growing market demands.
