Must read

A focal point of the athletic fashion retailer’s main campus, the proposed 62,900 sq ft hub building will include offices, a lecture theatre, meeting suites, a gym, a café, and a dining area.

JD Sports has filed a reserved matters application for the second phase of its main campus overhaul. The first phase included a series of highway works, road infrastructure, and a creche for the site, which sits off Pilsworth Road and Hollins Brook Way.

This second phase consists of more than just the three-storey hub building. It also includes a multi-sports pitch and a padel court. There would also be a picnic area with wheelchair-accessible tables.

The designs also include 64 car parking spaces – 44 for workers and 20 for visitors. Of the 64 car parking spaces, seven are accessible and 17 are for electric vehicles.

AEW Architects designed the hub for JD Sports, with CW Studio leading on landscape. Enabl is the planner.

The project team also includes air quality consultant Redmore Environmental, noise expert Cundall, remediation specialist GroundTech Consulting, and transport consultant Eddisons. Urban Green is the ecologist and BNG expert. Kennedy Redford is the energy strategist.

Caddick Construction is lined up to build the facility.
