The travel guide recommends exploring the area by car, allowing visitors to stop and savour the area’s sandy dune-backed beaches, salt marshes and wild meadows.

It suggests a visit to the coast’s many nature reserves to take in the “prime birdwatching opportunities” and capture a sight of its migratory birds including flocks of oystercatchers, plover, curlew and Brent geese.

The seven-day route spans a huge chunk of the English countryside starting in Devon’s Dartmoor National Park before spending a day on the Isle of Wight, in the South Downs Way, in Canterbury and Dedham Vale National Landscape before heading to Norfolk.

In total, the route covers approximately 528 miles.

North Norfolk wasn’t the only Norfolk destination to be named on the list with Norwich also being included in the perfect trip to discover England’s royal and rebellious past.
