‘I’ve visited every country and my favourite city is Brit stag do hotspot’

Must read

Having spent the last 12 years travelling around the globe, YouTuber Drew Binsky singled out a British stag-do hotspot as his favourite destination.

Among its postcard-esque landscapes and historic monument’s, lies one of Europe’s most popular stag-do destinations, with scores of Brits making their way to Prague every year.

After moving to Prague, Czech Republic for a study year abroad in 2012 Drew said that the capital city was the place that first ‘kicked off my travel bug.’

It was love at first sight for Drew after temporarily moving from his native US to Prague: “I just fell in love with Czech culture straight off the bat, it’s eastern Europe but it’s encroaching on the west, so you have kind of a little bit of both. But, it’s grungy, amazing people, nightlife is great, beer is cheaper than water.”

Drew also pointed out the benefits of the country’s geography, with it being handily sandwiched between neighbours such as Germany, Poland, Austria and Slovakia.

He continued: “It’s a really cool starting point in Europe, because it’s very affordable in Prague, way cheaper than western Europe. It’s in the centre of the continent so you can easily take a bus to Berlin or to Munich or anywhere else to get around.”

With it being relatively small for a capital city, he said it is the perfect size to take in all of the tourist attractions on foot.

Drew said: “And Prague is just so small that you can walk the whole city, there’s a lot of things to do there, you have Old Town Square, John Lennon Wall, you have one of the oldest castles in the world, you have small little districts and corners that are beautiful, with cute cafes and medieval buildings.”

He added: “If you’ve never been to Prague before, then you must add it to your next euro trip bucket list, because I promise you, you’re going to have the time of your life.”

But Brits looking to book a stag-do in the Czech capital may have been dealt a blow to their plans recently after authorities are reportedly looking to curb stag and hen do tourism.

Those in power have been drawing up plans that would put an end to ‘organised pub crawls’ with them being banned between 10pm and 6am. The city council have approved plans limiting “organised movements of tourists from pub to pub, disrupting the night peace especially in the centre”.
