Stagecoach is providing free travel on its bus services across the UK, including routes in North Devon, to serving military members, veterans, and cadets in honour of Remembrance Weekend on 10 and 11 November.
This initiative is part of Stagecoach’s commitment to honouring the Armed Forces and is supported by its Veterans employee network.
To qualify for free travel, serving personnel or cadets can show military ID or wear uniforms, while veterans can display medals or veterans’ badges.
The free travel offer applies to anyone attending remembrance services on these days. In addition to the free travel initiative, Stagecoach will mark the occasion by displaying poppy graphics on some buses and adding messages of support on destination screens as a tribute to the Armed Forces.
Stagecoach CEO Claire Miles commented: “We are incredibly proud to employ thousands of veterans, and it’s a privilege to honour the bravery and dedication of our Armed Forces, cadets, and veterans by offering free travel during Remembrance Weekend.
“This initiative underscores our commitment to supporting those who serve or have served our country, along with the families and communities who support them.”
The Veterans Network, an employee-led initiative within Stagecoach, aims to connect employees with military backgrounds and promote awareness of issues affecting veterans and military personnel.
Stagecoach has been a member of the Armed Forces Covenant since 2015, which focuses on supporting serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and their families across the UK.
