On December 25, Venus – the planet of love – moves into the “fiery, expansive realm of Sagittarius”, said astrologer Kate May.
Kate elaborated: “This celestial shift brings a burst of optimism, spontaneity, and a craving for freedom in relationships, creativity, and personal growth.
“Sagittarius, ruled by expansive Jupiter, inspires exploration, truth-seeking, and a sense of adventure. When Venus aligns with this energy, we’re called to embrace love and life with an open heart and a spirit of curiosity.”
The star signs most affected by Venus moving into Sagittarius are Aries, Leo and, of course, Sagittarius. Kate advises the fire signs on Christmas Day to “deepen existing relationships with authenticity and passion”.
Another major planetary transition occurs on December 27 when the full moon is in Cancer. “This emotionally charged full moon heightens intuition, family ties, and emotional release,” said Kate.
“Cancer’s nurturing energy prompts a focus on home and loved ones, while also encouraging the shedding of emotional baggage before the year ends.
“The Cancer full moon is not just a moment of emotional intensity, it’s an opportunity for profound growth and connection.” The water signs are likely to feel the effects of the full moon more intensely, so that would be Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.
“But all signs are encouraged to tap into their inner world and nurture their emotional well-being,” added Kate.
“This full moon is a cosmic reset button for the heart. Use it to release the past, forgive, and focus on the connections and values that truly matter.”
Then on December 19, Mercury stations direct in Capricorn. Kate explained: “After a few weeks of communication mishaps and delays, Mercury ends its retrograde, providing clarity and forward motion in career and organisational matters.
“Projects that stalled begin to move forward, misunderstandings can be resolved, and travel plans are less likely to go awry. Take this opportunity to solidify plans and ensure they are practical and achievable.”
Kate added: “Capricorn values longevity and sustainability. Focus on goals that will pay off in the long run, even if they require patience and persistence.”
The Earth signs will be most impacted by this transition, notably Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.
Then, on December 31, the moon is conjunct Jupiter in Taurus, meaning the “year ends with a celestial blessing”.
Kate clarified: “As the moon aligns with expansive Jupiter in Taurus, this is a fortuitous alignment for setting intentions and manifesting abundance.
“This rare conjunction amplifies feelings of gratitude, abundance, and hope for the future.
“By working with these cosmic alignments, you can enter 2025 with confidence, clarity, and intention.”
