Turkish modest fashion brand Abaci chooses London Designer Outlet for first UK store

London Designer Outlet (LDO) has signed Abaci as its outlet shopping destination of choice to announce the Turkish modest womenswear retailer’s first physical UK store.

Under an agreed two-year lease, the 1,418 sq ft store with feature Abaci’s speciality modest fashion lines. Since 2017, Abaci’s operated in the UK as a digital business supported by occasional pop-ups.

But after the success of those temporary ventures, the journey into permanent physical retail at LDO will see Abaci stock its extensive range of hijabs, abayas, tunics, coats and evening dresses.

The brand’s arrival there continues the strong leasing momentum seen at LDO over the course of 2024. The designer outlet has secured 11 new lettings and relocations throughout the year. Meanwhile, 18 brands have renewed their leases “highlighting the continued commitment international brands have in London’s go-to outlet destination”. 
 
Matt Slade, Retail director for owner Quintain, said: “Abaci’s move to LDO also follows the trend of more traditionally online brands beginning to take their first steps into the physical retail environment as they look to further showcase their offering.
 
“Abaci’s arrival continues our ongoing strategy of creating a diverse shopping experience to ensure we remain London’s preferred outlet destination allowing us to draw in shoppers from a huge catchment area.” 
 
Attracting over 5.5 million visitors a year, LDO sits at the heart of Wembley Park attracting a footfall of 16.4 million a year to its 265,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, including 70 outlet stores.
