Christmas travel in the Midlands to be disrupted, Met Office warns

Must read

As the nation prepares for the big Christmas getaway, travellers in the West Midlands have been warned by the Met Office that strong winds and rain are likely to cause disruption.

The yellow weather warning predicts gusts of 50-60mph (80km/h to 95km/h) across the region on Sunday between midnight and 21:00 GMT.

It comes just a matter of weeks after storms Bert and Darragh caused significant damage and the aftermath of Darragh is still being tackled by councils.

The latest Met Office warning covers mainly the west of the region – Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Staffordshire.
