Fitness experts at personal training courses provider The Fitness Group used data from Mindbody, Superprof, and Google Trends to analyse the popularity of seven key fitness disciplines (Pilates, Yoga, CrossFit, Strength Training, HIIT, Weightlifting, and Gymnastics) across UK cities, considering workout establishments, classes, private instructors, and Google search volume.
Wrexham topped that list as the UK’s fitness capital with an overall score of 92.65 out of 100.
It particularly excels in Yoga, ranking first with a score of 85.28 out of 100.
The city also boasts 9.13 Yoga establishments and offers 16.74 Yoga classes per 100,000 residents, with a Google search volume of 76.11 for Yoga-related terms per 100,000 residents.
Wrexham also excels in HIIT, ranking second nationally with a score of 94.10 out of 100, offering 4.57 HIIT establishments and 7.61 HIIT classes per 100,000 residents.

The city also performs strongly in CrossFit, ranking second nationally with a score of 89.70 out of 100. Wrexham has 1.52 CrossFit establishments and 1.52 CrossFit classes per 100,000 residents, with 44.15 private CrossFit instructors per 100,000 residents.
Wrexham also tops Gymnastics with 9.13 classes and 30.45 private instructors per 100,000 residents and ranks 2nd in Weightlifting, with 7.61 establishments per 100,000 residents.
