Sports signed a number of Wakering players during the summer after appointing ex Rovers boss Steve Roberts as manager.

And Ollie Jenkins, who was one of those to make the move, admits it will strange facing hos former team tomorrow.

“It will feel very weird playing against Wakering as there are so many familiar faces as well as people who I consider close mates so the rivalry will be there,” said Jenkins.

“It will be a very competitive game with a great atmosphere as well but I’m looking forward to it.

“It will be a very tough game because we all know what quality Wakering have.

“It’s not just their starting 11 but their whole squad and I feel it will be a very very good game.

“Both teams will want to win and it will just depends on who wants it more on the day.”

Wakering head into this weekend’s clash sitting third in the standings, two points behind leaders Stanway Rovers with a game in hand.

However, Hullbridge sit 13th and Jenkins admits it has been an inconsistent start for Sports. ”

The start of the season so far has been very hit and miss,” said Jenkins.

“We started the season superbly but we’re currently going through a rough patch. Every team will have that but we hope to overcome it and turn that on its head after Saturday’s game.”

And Jenkins is certain Hullbridge have the players to turn things around.

“I still feel we have the quality in the squad to be up there pushing for the play offs,” said Jenkins.

“A result on Saturday will definitely turn our season on its head.

“We have a very hard week of fixtures which could determine our season but it’s still early on and we won’t know the outcome until March or April time.

“It’s still very early to call as anyone can beat anyone in this league.”

Hullbridge will aim to show that again on Saturday but Jenkins holds only happy memories from his time with Wakering.

“I don’t think anything will really top my time at Wakering,” said Jenkins.

“From the changing room to the people behind the scenes everyone at the club treated me so well.

“It was great learning things from the experienced heads over there and they taught me things I use in my game now.”
