Angelina Jolie has arrived in Italy ahead of the 81st Venice International Film Festival.
The actor, director, producer and now designer landed in the romantic canal-lined city on Tuesday, looking elegant in an ensemble composed of her favourite minimalist staples. The core of her look was a light beige Dior trench coat with short folded sleeves and black buttons. She wore the transitional outerwear piece over a simple white tank and a silky black slip skirt.
Jolie chose an autumnal boot to complete her chic look — namely, a black leather knee-high heeled style featuring a wraparound ankle strap accented with a buckle, by Celine. Her only accessories were black sunglasses and her go-to stack of small silver hoop earrings. She wore her blonde hair down in a relaxed, side-parted style.
The Venice Film Festival kicks off this Wednesday, 28 August, and runs until 7 September. During the multi-day event, Jolie is expected to attend a screening for her new film, Maria, a biographical drama about the late opera singer Maria Callas. The actress actually uses her own singing voice in parts of the movie, while in other moments, recordings of Callas’ voice are used.
Other stars who have already made their arrival in Italy for the annual film festival include Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci and Sigourney Weaver, as well as this year’s jury president, Isabelle Huppert. Meanwhile, various other notable names, including Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Lady Gaga, are set to make appearances to celebrate their upcoming film projects in the next few days.
