Another new store opens at Market Place Shopping Centre

Must read

Card Factory’s new store is located inside the Market Place shopping centre – with the official ribbon cutting taking place this week.

It is the latest shop to move into Market Place Centre – which is becoming the town centre’ retail destination.

Recently The Works moved into the retail and leisure centre from Crompton Place Shopping Centre, which is set for demolition as part of the Bolton town centre masterplan.

The nationwide retailer stocks a range of greetings cards alongside gifts, toys, wrapping paper, and more.

The new shop is open 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sunday.

It joins other locations in Breightmet, Farnworth, Middlebrook Leisure Park, and Westhoughton to become the borough’s fifth branch of the chain.

Founded in 1997 by Dean and Janet Hoyle on Teall Street in Wakefield, the chain now has more than 1,000 stores across the UK and Ireland, as well as a website and app.

The company advertises that it has a range of thousands of products including balloons, party decorations, and more – alongside greetings cards.

Those who prefer ordering online can also benefit from free click and collect when their total is more than £15.

Nicola Shawcroft, General Manager of Market Place, said: “It’s really exciting to welcome another new tenant to Market Place to extend our current retail mix and we wish the team at Card Factory every success with the new store.”

Moving into the centre in the coming months will Primark. The store will open in the old Debenhams unit.

It took the keys to its new site in the summer.

It is on the move to the old site of the Debenhams department store which shut some three years ago.

This is seen as a significant step for the Crompton Place shopping centre, which Bolton Council wants to demolish and a develop as a part of the Bolton Town Centre Masterplan, and for the Market Place shopping centre, which Moorgarth Retail wants to be a destination for shoppers in the town centre.
