She rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to her glamorous looks.

But while battling the muggy August weather on Wednesday, Ashley Roberts suffered an awkward fashion faux pas as she attended a UK Gala Screening of Alien: Romulus in London.

The Heart FM star, 42, struggled to keep cool in her skintight grey dress as she posed for snaps on the red carpet, with her armpits becoming noticeably sweaty due to the humid weather.

Ashley brushed off the blunder as she exuded confidence in her eye-catching grey dress, teamed with silver strapped heels and a white clutch bag.

She swept her blonde tresses into a chic topknot as she joined stars including leading lady Cailee Spaeny, Junior Andre and Jess Impiazzi at the event.

Director Fede Alvarez’s thriller is set between the original 1979 classic Alien and the 1986 sequel Aliens, telling a brand new story within the franchise.

While the full reviews aren’t in quite yet, social media reactions from several critics across the country have started flooding in on X (formerly Twitter).

Many of them praise writer-director Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead remake) for film, insisting that it isn’t full of ‘fan service’ like many new franchise films are.

One critic – The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit – even claimed that the film takes the 40-year franchise, ‘in a crazy new direction.’

‘Alien: Romulus: Has all the great hallmarks of what you would expect in an Alien flick but never feels like it’s pandering to nostalgia or fan service…and even goes into a crazy new direction. Fede Alvarez & the cast just gave birth to summer’s best movie,’ Kit tweeted after attending the film’s premiere.

Variety’s Jazz Tangcay added, ‘#AlienRomulus The b***h is back. Was skeptical going in, but this is easily one of the better films in the franchise.’

Fede Álvarez doesn’t disappoint. Awesome sound design and world-building. The practical effects are so good that the film gave me nightmares,’ she added.

MovieWeb’s Richard Fink tweeted, ‘I really dug #AlienRomulus! It’s a gory monster movie with some truly inventive set pieces. Act 3 had me gasping in horror.’

Ridley Scott directed the original Alien in 1979 and serves as a producer on the latest flick in the franchise.

Director Fede offered some more insight into the highly-anticipated film in a new interview with Variety, including when exactly the film is set in the 57 years between Alien and Aliens.

‘(The movie) takes 20 years after the first one, and for me, I don’t see it as upsetting the canon,’ Fede admitted.

‘It’s something I take personal pleasure in doing, making sure that it all tracks and is all part of the big Alien franchise story — not only in the story, but also when it comes to how to make it,’ he added.

The director said that he spoke with original Alien director Ridley, who serves as a producer on the new film, and, ‘had long chats’ with Aliens director James Cameron about the movie.

He added: ‘After the movie was done, I showed it to them,’ also revealing he hired the VFX superviser from Aliens to make the miniatures for the film.
