Beautiful beach named ‘best in Europe’ for cheap beer and £2 sunbeds

Must read

A charming beach that stretches for miles set with golden sand and crystal clear water is home to the most affordable beach in Europe to visit this summer.

With summer well and truly here, many of us are either thinking of booking a holiday or have booked one already. Those who don’t want to spend loads of money on sunbeds or pints will be pleased to know there is a stunning European beach with budget friendly options.

Considered one of the best city beaches in the world, Playa de Las Canteras in Gran Canaria is blessed with fine weather practically all year round.

Its sea bed is home to one thousand fish species. And it also has a peculiar feature, which locals know as ‘La Barra’, a long rock formation spreading not far from the sand. The singular strip of volcanic rock protects a large chunk of the beach from the tides turning the bay into one of the best places to swim.

And the best part is you can cool off in the sun without putting a dent in your wallet as a pint of beer is only £3 and spritz cocktails are just £5.15.

While a sun lounger is priced at £2.57 per day, an ice cream serving is £1.80 and you can get a bottle of water for under £1 at 88p.

Omio researched 75 beaches across popular holiday destinations to uncover where beach days will be particularly affordable this summer.

Set with soft white sand and turquoise waters Kleopatra Beach in Turkey is the second most affordable.

This popular Blue Flag beach was named after the legendary Egyptian queen Cleopatra and is lined with restaurants and bars.

While sunbeds are slightly more expensive than Playa de Las Canteras at £6.44, a pint of beer and spritz cocktails are cheaper at a low £1.86 and £3.43.

Bottled water and an ice cream serving are also low in cost at 37p and 69p.

Rounding up the top three is a beach that has been named the best beach in Europe and Spain previously.

La Concha beach in San Sebastian, Spain is shaped like a bay, which protects it from tides and strong waves. It boasts soft white sands and delightful clear turquoise waters.

Here you can rent a sun lounger for just £2.57 and enjoy a cold pint of beer for £3.
