There’s a stunning small European country that it might be time to book a holiday to now before it is tipped to become a top tourist destination.
Low prices and amazing scenery make Estonia, and the capital Tallinn, a must-see nation for travellers wanting to soak in the Baltic vibes.
And it’s not just Tallinn which has something to offer, away from the city unspoilt forests and lakelands make it a definite hit for walkers.
Nature and history buffs alike will enjoy the island of Saaremaa, which features a 14-century castle, lighthouse and 7,500-year-old asteroid crater. There is also the Pilguse Manor hotel in the area which has double rooms costing under £100.
According to the ipaper, Estonia is one of seven places which have been listed as the fastest growing in Europe for popularity.
Direct flights from the UK to Tallinn can start for as little as under £40 and there are a variety of airlines airports to choose from, with the journey taking around two hours 49 minutes.
Cultural events to look out for over the year, include the artistic Tallinn Fringe Festival running from late August until mid-September and the Black Nights Film Festival in November, which attracts filmmakers from all over the world.
According to VisitEstonia, as one of “Europe’s least densely populated countries” Estonia gives you “the space you want and the time you need to travel at your own tempo”.
Describing Talinn, the site says: “In the morning, you can wander the streets of Old Town and marvel at buildings dating back to the Middle Ages.

“Then in the afternoon, you check out an avant-garde art exhibition in what used to be an old submarine factory. Thanks to Tallinn’s compact footprint, old and new mix in every part of the city.”
Away from the urban life, Estonia has six national parks making up around 23 percent of the country.
The country’s tourist board enthused: “Voyage around Estonia’s 2,317 pristine islands with the ebb and flow of the tide. Endless forests seem to have their own time zone.
“Awake to a symphony of birdsong. Breathe deep. Some of the cleanest air in the world will wipe away your cares. Marvel at summer sunsets that go on forever.”
