Beautiful little English town named the ‘most underrated in the UK’

Must read

Weymouth in England is a gem of the Jurassic Coast, and was recently named one of the most underrated towns in the UK by World Atlas. The seaside town is one of the prettiest in the UK and is perfect for swimming, sightseeing and enjoying in late summer.

The beach offers traditional coastal activities such as Punch and Judy shows so it’s also a great place to take your children to.

Its harbour is a popular place to visit in and in the surrounding area you’ll find a selection of pubs, tea rooms, fish and chip shops and arcades.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a boat trip along the Dorset coastline to experience the scenery from a different perspective.

Visiting the famous Durdle Door is a must-do while you’re there. The unique landmark is a UNESCO world heritage site and has been named as a natural wonder. Made of natural limestone, the arch was formed when the power of the waves eroded the rock and forged a hole through the middle.

Parking is available at Lulworth cove, visitors can walk to Durdle Door from here via a designated path. It’s important to be careful when visiting as you may be walking along cliff-top areas.

There is also a SEA LIFE centre in Weymouth which makes an exciting trip and a great addition to your day out if you’re travelling with children.

For dinner, Crab House Cafe serves a range of local seafood and British cuisine. The restaurant is known for its cosy atmosphere and comfortable setting.

One guest on Tripadvisor said: “The whole experience was wonderful. We came here for lunch and both had Scallops to start. They were cooked and seasoned to perfection and served with chilli sauce and a slaw.

“We had Mussels and Lemon Sole which were perfect. The service was also friendly and informal and the wine list was also extensive and well-selected.”
