Bid to change storage unit into jewellery business

Must read

Applicant, Mrs Laura Marjoram, has applied for a lawful development certificate proposing a “change of use and conversion of part of outbuilding to office and workshop for jewellery making business”.

The application for the outbuilding in Norton Subcourse was made to South Norfolk Council.

The proposal says that the change of use would be for one-third of the outbuilding which is “already separated internally”.

The plans say the building was “originally built by the previous owners of the property as a car garage”.

Mrs Marjoram has been using it as a storage unit.

The application says: “The office space would be used for general business office management along with creative processes such as painting and drawing.”

The business would operate Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

It adds: “Small scale machinery and hand tools would be used within the workshop space.”

Mrs Marjoram also proposes to install “a small cloakroom with toilet and sink for convenience” but does say “it is not essential”.

The rest of the building will remain as storage, the applicant adds.
