It’s no secret that Brits love a glass of prosecco. The bubbly tipple is consumed in the UK like nowhere else as figures show the country knocks back over a third of the world’s supply each year.

With that in mind, it’s no wonder people are looking for fun ways to enjoy one of the nation’s favourite drinks. Budget retailer B&M often seems to be offering a solution to those wanting to add a little fun to their drinking sessions.

In a post on Facebook page Money Saver by Dansway, people were alerted to a prosecco dispenser on offer at the discount store. Despite the in-store box saying it is meant for Prosecco, the online listing for the product calls it a Wine & Prosecco Tower with LED Light.

Boasting a container that holds 3 litres of your chosen beverage, the product description reads: “Elevate your home bar experience. Ideal for big groups and gatherings.

“Drinks tower with removeable ice tube and LED lights. Great for parties. Ice tube keeps your drink cool, allowing you to enjoy a perfectly chilled Prosecco every time.”

One fan of the idea said: “When you don’t realise you need something so much!” Another wrote: “Omg this would be perfect for those garden nights!”

Within a sea of comments that saw friends and family tagging the biggest prosecco fans they know, a third person added: “This would be great as a bit fun. I know it’ll probably end up in a cupboard for months but still should enjoy a few laughs and drinks with it! Can’t complain for the price”

The £25 find left others divided though as some questioned the concept and if it would even work as intended. One person commented: “Prosecco comes in its own dispenser?? I feel too many bubbles will be lost changing from one dispenser, to another dispenser, to the drinking dispenser. Plus that’s just a whole other thing that needs washing up!”

Someone else wrote: “Waste of money! You only get about four glasses out of a bottle so I’d buy an extra couple of bottles of Prosecco and pour yourself!” Another asked: “Wouldn’t it be better and less time just to pour the Prosecco in the glass? Just saying!”

The NHS suggests that both men and women should not exceed 14 units of alcohol per week. Remember to drink responsibly (18+) and be Drinkaware.
