The Trooper, a notable sports pub in Bristol’s Bryants Hill, has reopened its doors after undergoing a substantial refurbishment. This development was spearheaded by a significant investment, reportedly in the six-figure range, aimed at modernising the venue and enhancing its offerings.
As part of the Stonegate Group’s Craft Union, The Trooper has increased its seating capacity by adding 56 covers, catering to more patrons than before. The renovation also includes the establishment of a new outdoor area, complementing the pub’s existing facilities.
Inside, patrons can now enjoy a state-of-the-art audio-visual system and a dedicated indoor sports zone equipped with dartboards. These improvements position The Trooper as a premier destination for sports enthusiasts, showcasing popular channels such as Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
Lynne Hunt, who has been a fixture at The Trooper since 1974 and its manager since 1990, expressed enthusiasm about the reopening. “We can’t wait to welcome back locals to our new look pub!” she stated, emphasising how the refurbishment both enriches the atmosphere and strengthens community ties.
Aiming to engage the local community, The Trooper has curated a calendar of daily activities. These include a Monday darts night, a Tuesday quiz, and a ‘race day’ every Wednesday, allowing patrons to place fun wagers. Entertainment continues with live performances on weekends and a traditional meat raffle on Sundays.
The pub’s refurbishment project does not only enhance its physical space but also aims to strengthen its role within the local community. By providing a welcoming environment and diverse events, The Trooper intends to be a central hub for social interaction and enjoyment in Bristol.
The Trooper’s renovation solidifies its status as a vibrant community hub in Bristol, offering enhanced facilities and activities.
