Brit traveller in Thailand shows how much you can get with just £1 in local shop

Must read

Going on holiday is exciting, but we all know how bank-breaking it can be, especially in recent years.

There’s return flights, hotels and excursions to think about. Not forgetting the spending money you’ll need once you’re actually out there.

Now one lad who was travelling across Asia revealed how much you can really get with just £1 when shopping at a local Thailand corner shop.

Warren Robie, who boasts a whopping 3.2million followers over on his TikTok platform, recently visited parts of Asia, including China and Thailand.

And just recently, he decided to take followers on a trip to the local 7-Eleven where he revealed what 50 Thai Baht (£1) can really get you.

In the now viral video, he said: “So this is 50 Thai Baht, which is the same as £1, and right now I’m in Thailand.

“Behind me is 7-Eleven and I want to show you guys what you can get for a £1 in the Thailand corner shops.”

He kicked off his super cheap spending spree with a can of Thai Red Bull which came in at 10 Thai Baht, taking the total to just 20p.

Next he went for a packet of barbecue flavoured crisps, which is just over 10 Thai Baht, and now the total is 40p.

Warren also fancied some jelly which took the cost to 60p, just over half his budget. And he also felt like treating himself to a 10 Thai Baht (20p) lolly.

And with the total at 80p, he then decided to ask the shop assistant what he could do with the reminder cash being 5 Thai Baht.

That’s where he picked up a packet of biscuits, which he evidently struggled to carry without a basket to the till assistant.

As the shop keeper scanned all the items, it took the total to 50 Thai Baht (£1). Since he shared the clip, it racked up 96,500 likes and 1,000 comments.

One said: “£35 in the UK right there.” While another added: “That Thai Red Bull is £4.50 in my local Spar.”

A third commented: “Makes me just wanna move country to be honest.” Then a fourth pointed out: “It’s like being back in the 90s lol.”
