When it comes to jetting off to the sunshine, it’s no secret that Benidorm is a popular choice for Brits.
The beloved Spanish destination is great for those seeking sun, sea and a spirited atmosphere. However, amidst the excitement, a Benidorm local has sounded an alarm for holidaymakers.
He’s issued a crucial piece of advice about an area tourists might want to avoid. In an eye-opening TikTok video frankthestagman, also known as Frank, highlights the trouble brewing in what’s been dubbed “muggers’ alley”.
The bar owner stresses the need for tourists to be extra cautious when navigating this notorious spot.
Frank warned: “Muggers’ Alley is very, very famously known as being Muggers’ Alley because it’s Muggers’ Alley. Anyway, it’s up here and then it goes down there around that way as well. So at night you’ve got to be very, very careful. That whole ‘L’ as such.”
Keen-eyed holidaymakers should note the alley exists near the bustling outdoor market, with the Primavera Loix apartments not far away. Jade, Frank’s partner, admitted they’re “really nice apartments” though they’re located in an “odd” spot. The infamous alley is also connected to Palm Court.
Since the revelation hit TikTok, the video has attracted hundreds of views and prompted visitors to share their varied experiences of Benidorm’s nightlife thoroughfare.
One person shared their experience online, saying: “I took this route following maps, and had no idea. I had my phone on the hood of the pram.”
Another advised: “All you have to do is keep walking, and don’t interact with them.” A third recounted: “Been up and down there. Very frightening.”
However, not everyone has encountered trouble, as one added: “Stayed in a hotel up there. Never saw anyone get mugged.” Someone else remarked: “Walked up there every night for a week. Never saw a soul.”
