The Merchant’s Table, which is nestled in Church Street in Woodbridge, sells hand-crafted home products made by independent British makers and artists.
The independent business has now been named in House & Garden’s list for 50 of the best independent design shops in the UK.

House & Garden writer David Nicholls commended the shop, saying: “Everything at The Merchant’s Table in Woodbridge, Suffolk, has a narrative to it and the thread that runs throughout is very much one of nature.
“Seeking beautiful things from British makers, founder Susanna Cook has curated a shop full of pieces that come from our surroundings.”

In a post on social media, the company added: “We are thrilled and very proud to have been included in the list among truly inspiring companies.
“I wrote my thesis, as part of my Graphic Design Degree, on the homogenisation of the High Street, and here I am 36 years later, among 50 of the finest independent shops in UK and the tremendous support of House & Garden magazine, championing the very thing I was standing up for then.
“Thank you to each and every one of you! Congratulations to all of us!”
