Bedford Borough Council would like to remind people that there are just a few weeks left to apply for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Community Infrastructure Grant and the Rural England Prosperity Fund Active Travel grant. These funding opportunities aim to support local projects that improve communities, enhance infrastructure, and promote active travel in the borough.
The Community Infrastructure Grant Fund offers grants of up to £20,000 for capital investment in new or improved community and neighbourhood infrastructure projects. This could include anything from community centres and playgrounds to public art installations and local transport initiatives.
The Active Travel Grant Scheme provides grants of up to £25,000 for capital investment in new or improved cycleways and paths in rural areas. This funding aims to encourage more people to choose cycling and walking as sustainable and healthy modes of transport.
Councillor Andrea Spice, Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth, Planning and Prosperity, said, “These are exciting funding opportunities, which will provide vital support to local communities and help us create a more vibrant and sustainable borough. We encourage all eligible organisations to apply for these grants before the deadline.”
