Vismo, a company based in York, and the globally recognised International SOS are observing their tenth year of collaboration. This anniversary arrives alongside the challenges posed by Hurricane Helene in September and Hurricane Milton in October in the United States. The partnership has seen both organisations leverage their advanced technological solutions to assist clients worldwide in managing travel risks effectively.

During the hurricanes, clients using the Vismo Locate & Protect App gained access to real-time intelligence updates, crucial for maintaining safety. These updates included special advisories that prompted immediate action, urging users to adjust their travel plans to avert danger. The advisories, delivered via diverse communication channels such as SMS, email, Slack, and voice, ensured users received essential information despite challenging conditions.

Colin Dale, Vismo’s global sales director, highlighted the robustness of their app amidst the hurricanes, stating, “It’s a testament to both parties that mass notification did its job, despite the conditions that many of the app users and their phones found themselves in.” The application’s ability to function with weak signals and extended battery life underscores its effectiveness.

Sally Wang, representing International SOS, emphasised the role of the partnership over the past decade in safeguarding mobile workforces globally. The integration of International SOS Advisories into the Vismo Secure Portal before the hurricane season enhanced the platform’s capability to deliver real-time, intelligence-based updates and urgent notifications. This update ensured users were well-informed and equipped to handle potential emergencies efficiently.

This collaboration signifies a committed effort towards advancing emergency preparedness and ensuring the safety and security of employees in hazardous environments globally. Dale expressed optimism for future advancements, noting the partnership’s role in prioritising client staff safety.

The enduring collaboration between Vismo and International SOS demonstrates the power of strategic partnerships in enhancing global travel safety.
