Dillon Danis has been urged to step away from the influencer boxing scene by a prominent figure in the boxing community.
The controversial personality has yet to demonstrate the skill required to make a lasting impact on the sport, with many questioning his place in the ring after a series of lacklustre performances and controversies.
Dillon Danis Urged to Retire from Influencer Boxing After Controversial Career
Dillon Danis, once celebrated for his exceptional grappling abilities and impressive submission skills, climbed to the top of the jiu-jitsu world early in his career. His talent in the sport earned him widespread recognition, solidifying his reputation as a dominant force on the mats.
However, after transitioning to MMA and later influencer boxing, the American fighter has struggled to recapture the same level of success. Despite achieving a 2-0 record in MMA, Danis largely disappeared from active competition, relying instead on social media antics to remain in the public eye. This pivot to online controversy kept him relevant but further distanced him from his sporting achievements.
Danis’s notoriety eventually earned him a high-profile boxing match against Logan Paul. Leading up to the fight, Danis dominated headlines with his relentless trash-talking and provocative behaviour, often overshadowing the actual sport. While he managed to survive until the later rounds, the bout ended in chaos. A failed guillotine attempt—an illegal move in boxing—led to his disqualification, followed by a post-fight brawl that drew widespread criticism.
Reflecting on his turbulent boxing journey, The W.A.D.E. Concept, a well-known figure in influencer boxing commentary, has called for Danis to retire from the scene. While compiling a YouTube boxing Tier List, the content creator placed him in the “retire” category, saying, “Dillon Danis, promo-wise, has potential, but no. We can’t have him back in the scene. Get out of here.”

Although Danis is no longer competing, he remains invested in the sport as a passionate spectator. Recently, he bet on Tyson Fury to win his highly anticipated rematch against Oleksandr Usyk. Unfortunately for Danis, his wager did not pay off.
The grappling specialist later revealed the jaw-dropping amount of money he lost on the failed bet, further adding to his string of public missteps.
