What’s your Christmas shopping style? Are you a ‘Last Minute Louise’ or an ‘Organised Ollie’? Take our quiz to find out.

Our quiz will ask you a series of questions about when you start shopping, how much effort you put into finding the perfect present, and how long you spend doing it, to help determine which category of shopper you fit into.

A survey of 2,000 adults who celebrate Christmas revealed that one in five have already wrapped their presents – even before December has started.

A third see themselves as incredibly organised ‘early birds’, while 18% will leave most of their gift buying until the last few days. Among those who confess to being late shoppers, 46% blame it on indecision over what to buy, while 28% cite a busy work schedule.

Consequently, a quarter have hastily purchased a gift card instead of a more thoughtful present, due to leaving their shopping too late or resorting to a quick buy from the local corner shop.

The study, commissioned by Toblerone Truffles for its ‘Add a diamond’ campaign. The chocolatier has also crafted a wrapping guide to assist the 15% who rated themselves as ‘poor’ wrappers.

The survey found that 34% feel the festive season ‘creeps up on them’ each year. But those who finish their shopping early believe it reduces stress (56%) and helps avoid disappointment due to stock shortages (42%).

A significant 65% have personalised a gift for someone, with 46% believing it makes a unique present and 45% thought it demonstrated extra thought and effort, with 37% reckoning it creates lasting sentimental value.

Susanne Nowak from the chocolatier commented: “Everyone has a different approach to their Christmas shopping. Some love the thrill of a last-minute dash, while others prefer to get their work done early on so they can enjoy the season without present-buying hanging over them.”

“However, it can be hard to think of what to buy certain people in our lives, so taking the opportunity to do something unexpected will always be welcome.”
